stretches pastel fingers

across

Tres Pesos Bay

illuminating

Palicios’

few forgotten

buildings

lost

in the Texas vastness

where

time and thought

take

forever

to plod from

here

to there

perhaps

it’s this pace

and place

that

I envy

as

I collect more

memories

for writing

and

grow

drowsy
